Jorge Castaneda – Jorge worked at La Princesa off and on for 18 years in our Maintenance Department.   Late last month, Jorge passed away unexpectedly.  He was a fixture here with a great smile, a happy salutation and hard work.  A Memorial Service is planned for this Friday, July 19th at 4:00 PM – Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 450 Canyon Road, Bonita, CA 91902.

 

The staff forwarded a number of generous contributions to his daughter Nidia Castaneda.  Any further contributions can be left at the front desk in her name.

 

Board Meeting – July 23d at 10:00.  Please attend.

 

Annual Meeting – Saturday July 27th.   Please RSVP at the front desk so the caterer can have a head-count for food.

 

Please Vote – Board of Directors – The Association’s Bylaws require a new board of directors to be elected by the Members (Owners) every year.  The candidates for this year’s election are: Jan Zobrist, Tom Vince, Kevin McAuliffe, Ron Leeds, Harvey Friedman, Bob Grosnoff, Walt Booker and Moises Abadi.  The election ballot with voting instructions has been mailed to each Member.

 

Plumbing Shut Off - When water is shut off to do plumbing work in your stack, you should run your bath tub spout for a few minutes until the water is clear.  Do this before using other plumbing fixtures so anything that may be stirred up goes down the tub drain rather than lodged in a plumbing fixture which then becomes a plumbing problem to diagnose and repair. 

 

Bicycles – All bicycles at La Princesa need to be registered at the Front Desk and to display a current permit decal.  Although a lot of work was done during the past 8 or 9 months, there seems to be a “new” batch of about 20 unregistered bicycles.  Those bicycles have been gathered and accumulated in parking space 84.  If unclaimed by August 1st, those bicycles will be donated to a charity. 

 

Air Conditioning – Because the cooling tower and every unit’s heat pump(s) have been replaced, it is suggested that you try your heat pump air conditioning for a few minutes to make sure it will work when needed and not wait until there is a hot spell.  If your heat pump needs to be replaced, ordering a replacement could take weeks.  So, assessing it now would be proactive.

 

Parking Spaces – Please make certain your vehicles are parked within the perimeter lines of

your parking space and not on or over the lines.  The lines, and spaces between the lines are Common Area, and not to be intruded into.  Generally, this gives neighboring vehicle passengers better ability to open vehicle doors; and allows maintenance personnel a clear path between vehicles.

 

Also, some parking spaces have car covers, bikes, and other objects which are not allowed or strewn about.  Please don’t leave unauthorized items in your storage space, and make sure the authorized items are “organized”.
