New Residents

If coming to the Coronado Shores for the first time, there may be a lot to take in at once. You may be wondering where the gym is and when you can go, or how your guests can enter the complex; maybe you're wondering if you can build a fire ring at the beach or how to enter the pools. We wish for every resident and guest of The Shores to feel at home, so we've created this page to answer many of the questions you may have during your stay. If you're still unsure of something after reading, don't hesitate to speak to one of the Front Desk Staff who will be more than happy to help you.
Front Desk Staff [(619) 435-4174]: Reception services are provided around the clock – 24 hours. The emphasis of their service is security to all residents. Please respect their inquiries in assisting you. They will be happy to assist with information concerning directions to other Towers, amenities, and general information about the area. Lunch is typically taken by staff at 12:00 PM for the morning shift & 9:00 PM for the evening shift. Click For our Emergency Preparedness Plan
Maintenance: All repairs and replacements of internal installations of a Unit, such as water, power, sewage, telephones, air conditioners, sanitary installations, washers and dryers, windows, lamps, cabinets, and all other accessories belonging to a Unit shall be at the owner’s expense. Emergency repairs and some routine work of a very minor nature can be done by staff personnel. Please ask the Front Desk Staff if you need any help. Click For a Helpful Maintenance List-revised*
Common Areas: Owners and renters should note that section 9.4 of our CC&Rs transfers use of all common areas to renters during their stay. This includes parking spaces, bike room storage, and storage cages. Owners must also give up their right to use any of the facilities for the duration of their lease.
Keys, Fobs, and Genies: There are 2 keys to every unit. One operates the lower lock and the other operates your deadbolt. The lower lock key works as a skeleton key allowing you to use it to open all doors into the lobby or garage. If you are out of the building between the hours of 6:00 PM and 6:00 AM you will also need this key to operate the elevators. You may also choose to purchase a Fob from the front desk for $15.00 or use your Coronado Shores ID card to open all doors leading into the garage or lobby, but not the elevator. A Genie may be purchased at the front desk for $30.00 if not provided to you. This genie will allow you to enter and exit the garage to use your parking spot, as well as, open the Northern and Southern gates into the Shores complex.
Pets:
- Only two domesticated pets are permitted to reside in any unit.
- Units being rented cannot have a pet in unit unless the rental period is for 88 days or longer.
- Dogs cannot enter through the lobby unless being carried by their owner.
- No animal may be permitted to create excessive or disruptive noise or to pose a threat to other animals or to people.
- Pets shall be limited to dogs, cats, birds, and aquatic animals kept within an aquarium. All other pets are prohibited. Livestock is prohibited.
- Dogs must have a current license attached to their collars at all times when in the Common Area. Pets are required to have all licenses, permits, and inoculations required by local, county, state, and federal laws.
Smoking: The city of Coronado has adopted a No Smoking policy. Smoking in public areas carries a fine of up to $100 for the first offense. Coronado Shores and La Princesa Tower respect the city's decision, and are also Non-Smoking.
Noise: As a courtesy to your neighbors, please keep your conservation low and televisions, radios, and stereos turned down after 10:00 P.M. Also, please do not use your washer/dryer or your dishwasher after 10:00 PM. Residents that have hard surface flooring should be aware that sounds made by hard footwear and the movement of chairs, furniture, etc., WILL be heard in units below you.
Television and Internet: The association renewed its agreement with CSS DirecTV. The renegotiated agreement includes not only basic TV but also includes HBO, Showtime and Cinemax; with very fast basic internet speeds. These services are provided “in-bulk” to the association and paid for through your monthly assessments. If you have questions concerning the service and are unsure how to proceed, please contact the front desk. Please use this Newly updated Channel Guide for local listings.
Beach Attire: When in beach attire, entrance to the building shall be through the garage rather than the front lobby. Please remove sand from footwear before entering. Bare feet are not permitted in any of the common areas or lobbies of La Princesa Tower.
Parking/ Guests/ Grocery & Luggage Carts: All parking spaces outside of the building are monitored by L&R and are first-come-first-served. If you wish to invite guests to your unit, please let the front desk know they are coming. The front desk will then notify security who will have a parking pass available for them at the Security Kiosk on the Avenida de las Arenas entrance. Your guest must then present themselves to the front gate by providing their name, the building they will be visiting, and your unit number to gain access to the complex and to receive a parking pass. This pass allows them to park in any space within The Shores. Grocery and luggage carts are available for you in Storage Rooms 1 and 5. Your lower lock key can open these doors. Please see the front desk if you need assistance.
Recreational Facilities: Within the Coronado Shores Complex there are 4 swimming pools, 8 tennis courts, a health spa, and a club house open to all residents and guests. If you wish to use any of the facilities you will need to purchase a Coronado Shores ID card for $100.00 from the L&R office. Please see the front desk for an application. After purchasing your card, please take it back to front desk staff so they may activate it for use on access doors into our building. Please visit the Coronado Shores L&R Website for contact information and hours of operation: L&R Website. Click the Facilities Tab at the top of the screen for detailed information of all facilities within the complex. You can also review the L&R Rules and Regulations for more information.
Trash, Recycling, & Garbage Disposal: Trash rooms are located to the immediate left of the ’01 Unit on each floor. All trash should be placed in plastic bags and tied securely prior to being deposited in the trash chute. Large boxes should be taken directly to the dumpster. Please ask the front desk for directions. Containers for recyclables are located BEHIND the doors in each trash room and on the upper lobby level adjacent to the mailroom. Please be aware that our plumbing is old and could be clogged if not taken care of. Please read this helpful handout concerning what should and shouldn't be in your garbage disposal: Garbage Disposal Dos and Don'ts
Grills and Fire rings: While the use of BBQs is not prohibited, it is important to remember that the smell and smoke from your BBQ may cause a nuisance to your neighbors, and that you may be asked to put it out. The use of any liquid type of flame starter is prohibited, and only electrically started or gas fired BBQs are permitted. Of course, BBQs may only be used on open balconies, and must be used with common sense, caution, and concern for your neighbors. Fire rings are allowed on Coronado Beaches. Please review these attachments: Fire Rings and Fire Safety on the Beach before starting any fires on the beach.
